How can I Join the Folio Team?
What kind of art can I submit?
We accept any form of visual art: drawings, paintings, photographs, graphic design, photos of sculptures, etc. As long as you can submit a JPEG, PNG, TIFF etc. of your piece, it is welcome. However, we don’t take any poetry or writing, since our magazine is focused on the visual arts.
If I am a member of Folio (as a coordinator or general member), can I still submit?
Yes! Members of the team can also submit. The curation process for our magazine is completely anonymous. You are still eligible to join our team, and help with curation even if you have submitted as an artist.
Can I submit if I do not go to McGill?
Unfortunately, the magazine is limited to submissions from McGill students only.
Where can I get a physical copy of the magazine?
To get a free copy, we host a launch party every semester (details on our Facebook page). Everyone is welcome to join, and entrance is PWYC. Magazines are available for every attendee, but if you can’t make the launch, simply email us at email@example.com and we will try our best to meet up with you.
Do I need to be an artist to be able to join the team?
No! You do not need to be an artist to join the team, we welcome everyone who wants to join! The team is more involved in choosing submissions, putting together the magazine, promoting the club, and organizing the launch. So there’s always something you can do even if you’re not a skilled artist.
